Pantry Exceeds Goal in First Walk for Hunger
The Walpole Community Food Pantry is thrilled to share the success of our first-ever Walk for Hunger, held on May 3 in Walpole's Town Forest.
When we launched this event, we set an ambitious fundraising goal of $5,000 to support our efforts to combat food insecurity in our community. Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, we not only reached that goal—we surpassed it, raising nearly $7,000.
Approximately 20 dedicated walkers joined us for the event, spending the morning together in support of a shared mission: ensuring that local families and individuals have access to nutritious food when they need it most.
The impact of this achievement was recently highlighted in a feature story by Hometown Weekly, which recognized both the success of the fundraiser and the incredible community support behind it. We are grateful for the opportunity to share our story and raise awareness about the growing need for food assistance in our area.
Funds raised through the Walk for Hunger directly support our work serving approximately 300 families each week. Through our partnership with Project Bread, every dollar raised helps strengthen hunger relief efforts both locally and across Massachusetts.
This event's success belongs to our entire community. We extend our heartfelt thanks to every walker who participated, every donor who contributed, and every supporter who helped spread the word. Your generosity makes it possible for us to continue serving our neighbors with dignity and compassion.
While the walk itself has concluded, the opportunity to support the campaign continues through June 30. Donations remain open, and every contribution helps further our mission of fighting hunger in our community.
Together, we proved that when Walpole comes together, remarkable things happen.
